A high-level summary of what has changed on Rhododendra. Support my work.

  1. Fixed a plant photo rendering issue so regular detail pages stay focused on browsing photos. Added maintenance support to recover missing photo size details from stored images.

  2. Strengthened deploy safety with clearer checks before site updates restart the app. Photo storage, database migrations, server setup, and rollback paths are now checked more carefully.

  3. Refined search results and Plant-Index cards so browsing lists are easier to scan. Kept page titles visually consistent after the navigation updates.

  4. Updated the Donors section with clearer recognition for financial supporters and a direct Donate link.

  5. Simplified shared site navigation into clearer groups and removed breadcrumb clutter. About-Page, Hall-of-Fame-Page, Contribute-Page, and account links are easier to move through.

  6. Added clearer contribution tabs and notification markers. Contributors can more easily find pending, approved, rejected, and needs-review updates.

  7. Added a Hall of Fame section to recognize contributor activity and financial support. Added a Technical-Details-Page with live site totals, and moved About-Page, Update-Log-Page, and Technical-Details-Page links into clearer About section tabs. Improved plant preview photos so browsing cards keep images neatly framed.

  8. Strengthened photo preservation and delivery. Uploaded photos now keep safer archive details, use size-aware public versions, and are easier to preview during site maintenance.

  9. Polished Edit-Page controls for mobile use and longer text. Login fields, button targets, and contributor labels are clearer.

  10. Expanded contributor editing for botanical synonyms and plant relationships. Grouped moderator review cards make related corrections easier to review together.

  11. Added faster search updates after approved changes, with clearer Admin visibility when indexing needs attention. Added a reviewed deletion workflow for plant records.

  12. Added Contribute section navigation and a moderated Add Rhodo flow so new plant entries can be proposed safely. Added photo-upload setup support for contributor submissions.

  13. Strengthened contributor account protections and Admin pause controls. Added clearer validation for plant edits, including heights, years, status, season, taxonomy, and botanical descriptor fields.

  14. Added contributor agreement gating, contributor inbox updates, and moderator completion feedback so submitted work is easier to track and review. Added clearer photo attribution details.

  15. Updated the Contact-Page text and layout so support details are easier to find.

  16. Cleaned up stale placeholder items so the About-Page guidance stays accurate.

  17. Launched a fullscreen photo viewer for photos in: browse, detail, and high-resolution views. Added cleaner mobile presentation and clearer link styling.

  18. Added a new Donate-Page to help support the project.

  19. Refined contribution and moderation flows so pending plant edits and photo updates are easier to review and safer to accept.

  20. Improved site reliability during busy periods and added protections that slow repeated automated requests.

  21. Refreshed the look of plant pages, search results, and browsing screens, with larger layouts and more responsive photos.

  22. Reworked the rhododendron index so paging is easier to scan and smoother to use, especially on phones and tablets.

  23. Added the foundation for contributor accounts, profiles, invitation flows, and admin tools for future community updates.

  24. Strengthened backups and restore tools so the site can be recovered more safely if something goes wrong.

  25. Moved database changes into a more reliable migration process and tightened the way site maintenance is deployed.

  26. Clarified the project licensing for code, data, and photos, and improved how browsers receive updated site files.

  27. Improved mobile layouts, page spacing, buttons, headings, and the back-to-top experience across the site.

  28. Fixed a display issue where some hybridizer photos could be missed.

  29. Preserved old plant links while modernizing the internal page structure, so existing bookmarks keep working.

  30. Added early editing tools and sign-in groundwork to support future community-contributed corrections.

  31. Upgraded the site's search and data foundation so plant information can be indexed and retrieved more flexibly.

  32. Sorted the hybridizer result list alphabetically.

  33. Enabled HTTPS for more secure browsing.

  34. Added hybridizer data and hybridizer search.

  35. Added taxonomic search and included taxonomy details in result cards.

  36. Added parent and children search, refreshed styling, and improved search result cards.

  37. Improved scientific naming style across the site.

  38. Corrected a plant record affected by a data parsing issue.

  39. Improved species selection sorting and refreshed the About, Contact, and synonym displays.

  40. Added species and cultivar filters, picture-only browsing, and additional styling updates.

  41. Fixed duplicate entries and clarified natural hybrids.

  42. Added the full high-resolution photo collection.

  43. Improved page titles for scientific naming style.

  44. Moved photos to a content delivery network so they load faster.
