Extra Information	(about the synonym R. adansonii): Michel Adanson was a great botanist, whose work was conducted during the period of the “Lumičres”. He died on August 5, 1806 and was laid to rest at Pčre-Lachaise cemetery in Paris. He wrote 58 volumes of his “Familles des plantes”. Lots of species were named to honour Adanson: shellfishes such as Conus adansoni Lamarck, Helix adansoni Webb & Berthelot and flowering plants such as Bauhinia adansoniana Guill. & Perrot, Polystachya adansoniana Reichb.f., and Rhododendron adansonii Pépin. While some of these names mayno longer be used today, they serve as a testimonial to two centuries of interest in Adanson.
